During the first quarter of 2011, the Seminar-Workshop on “Experiences in developing agricultural cooperatives and agri-food mini industries in Latin America and the Caribbean” took place in Havana, coordinated by the Permanent Secretariat of SELA through its IBERPYME Programme.

The conclusions and recommendations of this seminar highlighted the importance of continuing with efforts to support the consolidation of these new forms of agri-food production in Cuba. In this regard, participants agreed to hold a new seminar before the end of 2011 so as to seek possibilities for financing through international cooperation to benefit these entities.
