OBJECTIVES
General objective
To promote the regional dialogue and create a space for rapprochement and coordination through experiences and successful practices in the development of International Trade Single Windows in those related areas such as international standards, risk management in trading operations and generally, improvements in paperless international trading, with a view to carry out digital integration processes, within the framework of regional integration in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Specific objectives
- Exchange experiences as regards the development and consolidation of regional and national initiatives in the area of International Trade Single Windows, as an essential tool for facilitating intra-regional and inter-regional trade, digital management of foreign trade procedures and the arrangements associated with them, while complying with the relevant international standards.
- Disseminate and share the best practices generated by projects/programmes aimed at the design and implementation of Single Windows, by promoting timely access to the methodologies, procedures and resources that have proved effective in the area of paperless international trading, in accordance with the criteria of interoperability, efficiency, compatibility of standards and security.
- Reach agreements on strategic issues for the development of International Trade Single Windows, with the intention of contributing to outline an agenda for technical cooperation with a regional scope.
- Take the initial steps to establish a Regional Working Group to consolidate the achievements made, the challenges and expectations of the region and submit them to the various international forums related to trade facilitation, particularly the development of Single Windows.
