GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of this meeting is to build a space for rapprochement and coordination that fosters a regional dialogue through an exchange of experiences and best practices, the definition of strategic issues and achievements in the region in this area, with the purpose of contributing to the development and consolidation of Single Windows, within the context of the processes of digital and regional integration in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Specific objectives
- Discuss emerging and innovative topics with relevant impact on the outline and development of International Trade Single Windows in Latin America and the Caribbean, as a crucial instrument for intra- and inter-regional trade facilitation.
- Disseminate information about best practices stemming from Projects and Programmes to outline and implement Single Windows, with special emphasis on effective methodologies, procedures and resources in the area of cross-border paperless international trade, based on criteria of interoperability, efficiency, compatibility of standards and security.
- Foster convergence as regards the development of Single Windows, aiming at the unification of the criteria required to implement common processes and implement systems with capacity for exchanging information for the purpose of organizational and technological interoperability and harmonization of data on the basis of international standards in international trade.
- Reach agreements on strategic issues for developing International Trade Single Windows, with the purpose of contributing to defining of technical cooperation agenda with regional scope.
