Format of the meeting and participants:

The event falls in the category of Regional Meeting. As a result, the convocation to the meeting is aimed at promoting the participation of the representatives of the Member States of SELA, regional and subregional cooperation and integration organizations and experts from the region.

Venue and date:

The meeting will take place at SELA headquarters, in Torre Europa, Andrés Bello Conference Room, 5th floor, Francisco de Miranda Avenue, Campo Alegre, Chacaíto, Caracas.

Organization of the event:

The meeting is being organized by the Permanent Secretariat of SELA and the Agenda includes three working sessions, morning and afternoon, each one of which will be preceded by a thematic presentation and followed by a debate. At the end of the meeting, there will be a general debate which will lead to the drafting of conclusions and recommendations.

Participants:

Participation in this Regional Meeting is subject to an invitation issued by the Permanent Secretary of SELA to the representatives of the Member States of SELA, the regional and subregional cooperation and integration organizations of Latin America and the Caribbean, embassies of Asian and African countries in Caracas and experts in the region.

Dressing code :

Participants are suggested to wear formal attire.

Languages:

The official languages of the event will be Spanish and English. There will be simultaneous interpretation.

Transport:

For transport from the International “Simón Bolívar” Airport in Maiquetía to Caracas, there is an authorized taxi service at the exit of the airport terminal. Authorized cabs can be easily identified since they are black with yellow logotypes printed on the doors of the vehicles.

This authorized taxi service has a cost of approximately Bs.F 1,000.00 per travel, payable in national currency. For your own security, Coordinators of the Regional Meeting recommend to use exclusively this taxi service.

Migration Information for entering the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela:

Except for special cases, entry of tourists of almost all nationalities into the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is allowed. Nevertheless, visas are required for some of them. In those cases, SELA could ask the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for courtesy visas, granted for the participation in official events. This authorized visa is stamped at the Consulates of Venezuela in the countries of origin, before travelling.
