OBJECTIVES
General objective of meetings on FTSW
The Latin American and Caribbean Regional Meetings on FTSW, organized annually by the Permanent Secretariat of SELA in collaboration with authorities of its Member States, aim to become a space for encounter and consultation that promotes the regional dialogue through the exchange of successful experiences and relevant information on strategic issues and advances in the field of FTSW in the region, with a view to contributing to their development and consolidation within the framework of digital and regional integration processes in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Specific objectives of the VIII Meeting
- Highlight the importance of efficient and appropriate information systems to optimize the real usefulness of Single Windows in terms of facilitating the conduction of foreign trade operations and generating confidence among the parties involved in trade.
- Provide analytical elements that contribute to the progress and strengthening of Foreign Trade Single Windows and their potential interoperability with other Single Windows nationwide, such as those related to port and airport activities.
- Introduce and stimulate the debate on difficulties that can be faced in the implementation of specific trade facilitation measures.
- Disseminate best practices for the development and consolidation of FTSW, highlighting the incorporation of international standards, the required legal acceptance and the management of security and confidentiality for the electronic exchange of data.
