VII MEETING ON PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN: BUILDING RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURES

OBJECTIVES

In accordance with the Work Programme for 2018, as approved by the Latin American Council of SELA, this activity has the following objectives:

i) Evaluate resilience of physical infrastructure (public and private buildings), hospitals, health services, educational and cultural facilities for the protection of the historical heritage and cultural heritage in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean;

ii) Examine corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a resource to strengthen social resilience against disasters;

iii) Identify regional best practices in terms of investment and efficient, sustainable and responsible capacity building; and

iv) Present the Initiative of the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE) and its international and regional progress. Signing of the agreement to establish the National Chapter ARISE-Mexico.
