XXX MEETING OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION DIRECTORS FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN: COORDINATION AND EFFICIENCY OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION VIS-À-VIS THE OCCURRENCE OF NATURAL DISASTERS IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

OBJECTIVES

In accordance with the Work Programme for the year 2019, as adopted by the Latin American Council of SELA, this activity aims to: i) Submit a general assessment of the main initiatives developed by the Member States of SELA and specialized international organizations as a contribution to the consolidation of coordinated and efficient cooperation vis-à-vis adaptation and mitigation of effects of natural disasters; ii) Promote best practices of international cooperation in cases of disasters and strategies for adaptation and mitigation of their impacts that are susceptible to replication in different geographical and demographic contexts; and iii) Disseminate and exchange information on protocols of coordinated action for the management of international cooperation in cases of natural disasters.
