SELA AND CLAD JOIN EFFORTS TO PROMOTE LATIN AMERICAN COOPERATION AND SUPPORT THE ACHIEVEMENT OF SDGS

SELA and CLAD join efforts to promote Latin American cooperation and support the achievement of SDGs 

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Latin American Centre of Administration for Development (CLAD) have agreed to carry out joint actions aimed at promoting Latin American cooperation with a view to strengthening the social and economic development while supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday 27 November 2018 by the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Javier Paulinich, and the Secretary-General of CLAD, Dr. Francisco Velásquez, in Caracas during the Ministerial Stage of the XLIV Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council of SELA.

The parties will be able to carry out joint activities at the technical and institutional levels mainly to a) Organize meetings, seminars, workshops or forums to disseminate knowledge and advisory on international and regional cooperation and improvement of public policies. b) Conduct professional exchanges and agree on research studies on topics deemed appropriate to help meet the goals of each party.

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) is a regional inter-governmental organization that seeks to arrange common economic and cooperation strategies among its 26 States members, and the Latin American Centre for Development Administration (CLAD) is an international organization aimed at promoting the analysis and exchange of experiences and knowledge as regards the State reform and the modernization of the Public Administration as a strategic factor for the process economic and social development.
