Vienna, February 24 (Reuters)- The oil price of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries climbed further to 105.88 dollars at mid-week, the group said Thursday, DPA reported.

Analysts said markets were worried Wednesday about unrest spreading from OPEC member Libya to big producers like Iran or Saudi Arabia, which could lead to major supply problems.

The cartel's basket price rose 1.87 dollars per barrel (159 litres).

International oil companies have reduced their activities in Libya, but OPEC says it has enough spare capacity to compensate reduced output there.
