HAITI - TAIWAN: PRESIDENT MARTELLY MET THE VICE-PRESIDENT MR. WU DEN-YIH FOR COOPERATION

Port-au-Prince, August 17- In the Dominican capital, the President Michel Martelly met in private, the Vice-President of Taiwan (Republic of China), Mr. Wu Den-Yih, with whom he discussed issues of cooperation between Haiti and Taiwan.

The first issue addressed was the commitment of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to continue the implementation of plans for cooperation to promote the reconstruction of Haiti. The Head of State of Haiti, took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Vice President Den-Yih, the results obtained in this field, having contributed to the welfare of the Haitian people.

In addition, the President and the Vice-President expressed the need to work in university education and the vocational training to help young people to have a better future and become a great potential for the country. "We must give the young people the opportunity to benefit from adequate professional training to help them to contribute to the reconstruction of our society," remains convinced the President Martelly.

The President Martelly has also expressed its intention to strengthen the electricity sector in Haiti. In this sense, the Vice-President of Taiwan has promised to work to support Haiti. The cooperation between Haiti and Taiwan also extends into the field of health.

Martelly and Den-Yih, pledged to continue working, to achieve these new plans of cooperation in order to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
