BOLIVIAN SENATE RATIFIES TREATIES WITH ALBA

La Paz, August 30 (PL)- The Bolivian Senate passed two treaties and an energy agreement of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), according to a statement released by the Senate.

The documents will guarantee the balance of the energy mix in the member countries of ALBA, who signed the agreements, says the."Both agreements were signed in Venezuela on April 29, 2007.

One of them, the Energy Treaty, was signed between Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and Bolivia," reads the letter sent to the press.

The aforementioned document also explains that the multilateral treaty will develop five key areas: in oil, gas, power, alternative energy and energy conservation.

While the other agreement states that Venezuela will supply Bolivia crude oil, refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas, equivalent to 250,000 barrels per month. The newsletter the Upper House informed that "to achieve these goals it will be created the Grand National Energy Company, covering areas of oil, gas, refining, petrochemicals, transport infrastructure, storage, distribution and others”.

The projects were submitted to the President for his signature.
