WTO TO EXAMINE PERU-KOREA TRADE AGREEMENT

Lima, September 4 (Andina)- The free trade agreement between Peru and Korea will be examined at the meeting of the Committee on Regional Trade Agreements (CRTA) of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which will take place on September 18-19 in Geneva, Switzerland.

This will allow Peru to outline its trade agreement policies and demonstrate that the country upholds the WTO trading system, Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) said.

It also explained the CRTA is a transparency mechanism for regional trade agreements, which was established by the General Council.

The two principal duties of the Committee on Regional Trade Agreements are to examine individual regional agreements; and to consider the systemic implications of the agreements for the multilateral trading system and the relationship between them.
