MEXICAN FM HIGHLIGHTS INCREASE OF LINKS WITH LATAM

Mexico City, September 5 (PL)- Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa said her country's links with Latin America and the Caribbean have been strengthened under the current administration.

In a press conference, Espinosa noted that there was a rift with the region before, but the government of Felipe Calderon achieved an integration agenda, aware that there is plurality and the peoples´ decision must be respected.

The Foreign minister said that currently Mexico is not in conflict with any other nation.

In a review of foreign relations in the six years of government set to end soon, Espinosa described as its main achievement the reinstallation of Mexico in the international scene.

She cited her country´s involvement in the establishment of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, in the efforts to protect the environment and in those to strengthen diplomatic links with at least 193 nations now.
