PERU, INDONESIA DEEPEN ECONOMIC AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION

Lima, May 10 (Andina)- Foreign Ministries of Peru and Indonesia held the first meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation in Lima.

The meeting was attended by Director-General for American and European Affairs, Dian Triansyah Djani.

Peruvian and Indonesian delegations exchanged proposals and reached important agreements on trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, fishery, forestry, micro and small-sized enterprises and legal assistance.

Representatives of both delegations met on May 6 at Torre Tagle Palace, headquarters of the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, and welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Narcotics Agency of Indonesia (BNN) and the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida).

Furthermore, both countries strengthen technical cooperation through projects expected to be executed in Peru and Indonesia.

At the meeting, delegations also agreed to increase bilateral trade by promoting exports of fruits, vegetable and fishery products, and to attract investment from Indonesia in several sectors, including construction, agriculture, forestry and hydrocarbon, said a statement from the Peru's Foreign Ministry.
