INDIA, VENEZUELA REVIEW BILATERAL COOPERATION AGENDA

Caracas, May 24 (PL)- Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Elias Jaua met with India's ambassador in the country, Smita Purushottam, to review the bilateral cooperation agenda, reported official sources.

According to the Foreign Ministry, different aspects of cooperation, integration, and negotiation were reviewed in order to increase interest in diversifying trade exchange strategies between the two countries.

Venezuela and India have had diplomatic relations for more than 50 years, with embassies in both territories, allowing for strengthened understanding, cordiality, and friendship over more than three decades.

Caracas and New Delhi expressed the need to strengthen cooperation mechanisms in hydrocarbons and agree on a joint association for oil exploration and exploitation in the Orinoco Oil Belt.

The two nations also expressed interest in cooperating on infrastructure in order to contribute to the Great Venezuela Housing Mission (Gran Mision Vivienda Venezuela).

Other topics were also discussed, such as strengthening innovation in the technology and machinery field, health, biotechnology, car sector, training sector, education, cultural exchange, and urban development.
