Lima, June 17 (Andina)- Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) will participate in the intersessional meetings at the level of Chief negotiators and Crossborder Trade Group from the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) to be held in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on June 19-21, 2013.

The gatherings aim to continue the negotiation process, which kicked off in March 2010, and are in accordance with the momentum given to the TPP during the Leaders’ Summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

Thereby, this is a unique opportunity for Peru to make improvements of national interest in the existing agreements with some of the TPP member countries, mainly in the sectors of mining, agriculture and textile clothing.

The TPP is a negotiation process that includes countries from three continents, America, Asia and Oceania, which seeks to become the basis and means to establish a Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific (FTAAP).

It will enhance trade and investment among the TPP partner countries and set new standards in the conduct of global trade.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a trade and investment liberalization initiative involving nine countries - Australia; Brunei; Chile; Malaysia; New Zealand; Peru; Singapore; United States; and Viet Nam.
