SURINAME HIGHLIGHTS UNASUR ROLE IN INTEGRATION PROCESS

Paramaribo, August 29 (PL)- Surinam's delegate to the Council of Representatives of the Union of Southern Nations (UNASUR) Ike Antonius highlighted the importance of that organization in the regional integration process.

In statements to the press, Antonius underlined that, during the seventh Summit of the organization, to be held on Friday in this capital, the participation of the civil society, and especially of young people, in the UNASUR will be analyzed.

During the meeting, Suriname will receive the pro tempore presidency of UNASUR for 2013-2014.

UNASUR is comprised of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guayana, Paraguay, Perú, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.
