OAS SECRETARY GENERAL MET WITH CARICOM SECRETARY GENERAL

Washington, September 26- The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met with the Secretary General of CARICOM, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, in New York in the framework of the 68th United Nations General Assembly.

The OAS leader spoke with his CARICOM counterpart about the regional debate surrounding the Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas, produced by the hemispheric Organization under his leadership pursuant to a mandate from the 2012 Summit of the Americas.

Secretary General Insulza and Ambassador LaRocque also analyzed the current and future cooperation between the OAS and CARICOM, among other topics.
