SELA TO ORGANIZE XLI MEETING OF LATIN AMERICAN COUNCIL

Caracas, 24 November 2015. - Members of 27 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean will meet this week in Caracas, from 25 to 27 November 2015, as part of the celebration of the XLI Meeting of the Latin American Council of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) highest decision-making of this intergovernmental organization, based in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
On November 26 will begin the installation of the Ministerial Meeting of the XLI Meeting of the Latin American Council, in charge of the Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), the Presidency of the Latin American Council, authorities of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and delegations of the 27 member states of SELA.
During its 40 years of uninterrupted work, SELA has established as a regional body of reference for the Latin American and Caribbean region, carrying out tasks of permanent consultation, coordination, cooperation and joint economic and social promotion, with international legal personality, aimed at promoting a system of consultation and coordination to arrange common economic positions and strategies in Latin America and the Caribbean, between countries, groups of nations, international forums and organizations and to foster cooperation and integration among Latin American and the Caribbean, in accordance with Decision No. 527 of the Latin American Council, dated October 21, 2011, referred to the "Linking the Permanent Secretariat of SELA and its Work Programme with the process of formation of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC)"
