CELAC representatives and China analyzed advances in its relationship

Quito, May 5, 2015.- The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Integration of Ecuador, Leonardo Arízaga, chaired yesterday 4, the meeting of the National Coordinators of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the Assistant Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Wang Baodong, who discussed issues of mutual interest and mutual benefit, explained the Vice-Chancellor, who also reported about the schedule of meetings.

CELAC-China meeting was held in the framework of the VIII Meeting of Foreign Ministers and XII Meeting of National Coordinators of CELAC, which takes place in Quito until today 5 May.

Vice Minister Arízaga explained that the meeting advances at the CELAC – China Forum, which opened in early 2015 and includes financing from China with 35,000 million for the region over the next five years.

Wang Baodong meanwhile highlighted the change in the relationship between China and other parts of the world, mainly with Latin America and the Caribbean, which is now based on peace, development, cooperation and win-win results.

“In the past two years China and the Latin American countries are working together and very hard for the welfare of its people and their prosperity, so they have raised an agenda based on equality, mutual benefit and common development and peace, stability and development. The creation of the Forum in January marked the beginning of a new stage in our relations, where collaboration is in parallel”, said Wang Baodong.
